Activating the button already sends data to Twitter.") ### Our newest job video And yet another job title that is not self explanatory - Recruitment Coordinator. Is that a job in HR? Or what else could it be? You may know that a key success factor for a CRO like Profil is the recruitment of volunteers for the various studies carried out. Profil has a huge [database of of over 27.000 volunteers](https://www.profil.com/services/patient-recruitment) who in general agree to participate in our studies. But just because a person says they want to participate does not mean that they are suitable for a particular trial. That means sometimes it may be a long time before a person qualifies for one of our studies.  ### Study exclusion and inclusion criteria Clinical trials are designed to answer a particular scientific question. In order to answer that question, it is important to define the right inclusion and exclusion criteria for each study. That can be as general as the age of a person, the gender, or the weight. But it can also be if a person smokes or drinks, has undergone weight change in the past, if he or she takes a certain combination of medications and also the co-morbidities that come along with a certain condition is important. In the case of Profil studies, usually one of the first criteria is if we need healthy volunteers, patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, or any combination. Since Profil is so specialized we have a huge database of diabetic patients. They stay in regular contact with our volunteers, update their medical records and explain the details of a particular study. By always being up to date with all the data of our volunteers, we are able to tell our customers very quickly, if we can recruit the volunteers for a particular study. This information is key to Profil's success. Also, when someone is generally interested in participating in a study, the Recruitment Coordinator is the first person such a volunteer will speak to.
