Why Transient Elastography?

TE is a well-established method that measures liver stiffness to assess fibrosis, a key factor in MASLD and MASH progression. Using the FibroScan® device, this technique offers a swift, pain-free assessment of liver health, providing crucial data without the invasiveness of traditional biopsies.

How TE Works:

• Non-Invasive: A probe emits a vibration pulse that travels through the liver.
• Quick and Accurate: Measures the speed of reflection of this wave; faster speeds indicate stiffer, more fibrotic liver tissue.
• Simultaneous Measurements: Alongside liver stiffness, TE calculates the Controlled Attenuation Parameter (CAP), which quantifies liver fat, thus offering a comprehensive overview of liver health.

• Efficient Sampling: Covers a region about a hundred times larger than a biopsy, providing broader and more accurate data.
